It’s true. While other kids were climbing trees and hitting baseballs through their neighbours’ windows, I was grooming and showing dogs.

To be specific, back in the 70s, my family founded The Minnesota Academy of Dog Grooming, the first vocational trade school for pet grooming in the US Midwest states. Also known as The Groomery.

In my twenties, I headed to California to work with a very finicky breed...People!

I entered the spa industry, expanding my knowledge of aesthetics, but also gaining a clear understanding of how to listen to clients’ needs.

Then, I brought all my energy, experience and skills to Toronto, where I opened the latest edition of my family’s business.

Even though I have the skills to take purebred poodles to the podium, my love of all dogs means that I give the same level of care to every canine client that comes through the door.

I work closely with my fellow groomers in a specially designed workspace, which allows the dogs to roam safely and the parents to see our serious styling skills.
