Dr. Skutelsky and Dr. Bernhard are skilled in a variety of medical diagnostic procedures and maintain close contact with referral facilities in Toronto and Guelph. Because of the vulnerability of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Regular check-ups and preventative care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Roncesvalles Animal Hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services needed for yor pets.

Laboratory: We mainly utilize commercial laboratories for blood chemistry, hematology, serology, viral and fungal DNA, bacteriology, tissue histopathology, urinalysis and parasite diagnostics.

Radiology Services: We are equipped to provide radiographs to aid in diagnostics of some conditions.

Internal medicine consults: We offer in-hospital referrals to an internal medicine specialist to perform ultrasound examination, and to assist us with more complex cases. We will consult the Toronto-based Veterinary Emergency Clinic & Referral Centre or University of Guelph veterinary specialist teams if needed.

Surgical Services: Dr. Henry Skutelsky regularly performs soft tissue and bone surgeries at Roncesvalles Animal Hospital. We can arrange for orthopaedic surgeries to be carried out by board-certified orthopaedic surgeons as well.

Anesthesia: We use local and general anesthetics for our patients. Pets' vital signs are constantly monitored during procedures.

Dentistry: Our services include regular dental scaling and polishing, teeth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Microchip Placement: We offer microchipping to assist in identification and location of lost pets.

Pharmacy: We maintain an inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry prescription diets.

Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioural Counseling: We can help with correction of behaviour problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression, or arrange referrals to board-certified behavior therapists.

Boarding: We provide short-term pet boarding as a service to our clients. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday. Prior arrangements should be made with our staff.
